At Roots Management Group, homeownership is more than a transaction, it is about changing lives, building communities, and helping residents find a place they are proud to call home. For Community Manager Tuesday Schmidt, that mission is personal.

For three years, Tuesday has been a dedicated Community Manager with Roots Management Group, helping residents at Sleepy Hollow and Pine Ridge take the next step from renting to owning. Her passion for people, her ability to listen, and her determination to never give up on a resident’s dream have made her a standout leader and mentor within the company.

Tuesday says what she loves most about working with Roots is the structure, the opportunity to mentor other community managers, and most importantly, helping residents become homeowners.

“I love my residents and my job,” Tuesday says. “Selling homes to people who have become like family to me is the best part.”

Built for the Role

Tuesday’s success as a Community Manager comes from years of life experience that prepared her for the role.

Before joining Roots Management Group, she worked as an HR representative for an engineering company, where she learned the importance of listening, problem-solving, and helping people through stressful situations. She also spent more than five years as a cafeteria kitchen manager for a local school district, where she thrived in a fast-paced environment while working closely with families and students.

As a mom of three children, ages 13, 17, and 19, Tuesday says balancing family life has also taught her patience, empathy, and how to manage chaos with confidence.

“The more chaotic it is, the better,” she laughs. “I thrive in chaos.”

That same calm-under-pressure mindset helps her guide residents through one of the biggest decisions of their lives, buying a home.

More Than a Sale, A Life Change

Recently, Tuesday helped a resident named Brenda achieve what once felt impossible.

Brenda, a newly single mom with two teenage children, had been renting for over a year after going through a divorce. She needed a fresh start and a place her family could truly call home.

Tuesday helped her transition from renting a single-wide home into owning a double-wide, giving her more square footage, a nicer home, and remarkably, without increasing her monthly cost.

“She recently went through a divorce and needed a new place to call home,” Tuesday explains. “Being able to own instead of rent was a dream come true for this newly single mom.”

Tuesday worked closely with Brenda to help her see the potential, gather the necessary paperwork, and navigate the process from start to finish.

Sometimes, that extra support makes all the difference.

“Residents cry, hug me, and tell me this was their dream home,” Tuesday says. “That’s when you know you made it happen.”

The Heart of a Great Community Manager

When asked what it takes to be a great Community Manager, Tuesday says it starts with empathy.

“You have to be willing to have your ear open for residents, even during tours,” she says. “Sometimes they are so stressed out, and even having a complete stranger listen helps. You have to have empathy for everyone and relate to them.”

She believes great managers stay involved, approachable, and genuinely invested.

“Don’t be scary, be involved,” she says. “You need to love your job and love helping people.”

That mindset has not only helped her residents; it has also made her a trusted mentor for other Roots Management Group Community Managers. Tuesday regularly helps train new hires and supports fellow managers by sharing the lessons she has learned through experience.

Recognition from Leadership

Roots Management Group Regional Manager Jaclyn Hay says Tuesday’s dedication and heart are what make her so successful.

“She went above and beyond and helped this resident overcome the obstacles to #MakeItHappen so she could buy her home,” Jaclyn says.

“It honestly just took Tuesday caring enough to take the extra step to do so. A little care for what we do and what we are here for is all it takes. Though Tuesday has a TON of heart, mind you!

“Great work, Tuesday! You're caring about how what you do affects the residents of your community and the company you work for is why you are successful as both a Community Manager and Mentor. Your work ethic, critical thinking skills, honesty, and integrity have been the keys to your success.”

Loved by Residents

That same care shows up in the words of residents like Shawna Koziarz, who shared her experience living at Sleepy Hollow.

Review

“Living at Sleepy Hollow has been a wonderful experience for us,” Shawna says. “The office staff, especially Tuesday, have been amazing. She is so sweet, helpful, and truly goes above and beyond.

“She even helped us through the process of buying our home here, which made everything so much easier.

“The community itself is pretty quiet and feels safe and welcoming. It’s a great place to raise a family, and I love seeing kids playing outside, it really gives it that neighborhood feel. We absolutely love living here and are so happy we chose this community.”

A Recipe for Success

When Tuesday is not helping residents become homeowners, she finds peace in the kitchen.

Cooking is one of her favorite ways to relax, and fried chicken, is her signature favorite.

“My dad was a chef, so I got it from him,” she says. “Cooking relaxes me. It smells amazing, and I love it.”

Much like her work, cooking is about bringing people together, creating comfort, and making others feel at home.

And for Tuesday Schmidt, helping people feel at home is exactly what she does best.
