When Shaniqua first arrived at Hunters Mountain in June of 2023, she was met with a challenge: the community was only 53% occupied, with numerous vacant homes awaiting occupants. Undeterred by the task, Shaniqua and her team devised a plan to fill these homes and breathe new life into the community.

Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, Shaniqua's roots run deep in the community she now serves. With a positive outlook and a natural inclination towards helping others, Shaniqua sees her role as more than just a job—it's a calling. Drawing from her own experiences, including the miraculous birth of her daughter Aaliyah, Shaniqua understands the power of resilience and the importance of offering a guiding light to those in need.

With a focus on treating every potential resident as a family, Shaniqua and her team use a personalized approach to leasing, ensuring that each individual finds the perfect match for their needs and preferences. They identify the ideal fit by asking the right questions and conducting pre-screenings, resulting in a remarkable success rate. 

The results speak for themselves: in January of 2024, 15 homes were filled, followed by 21 in February, and more in March—a record pace of occupancy growth. To reach 90% occupancy by the end of 2024, Hunters Mountain is well on its way to becoming the premier destination for living in Troy. “We are busy, we have maintenance team members helping with letting people in to see homes while we are touring and helping with people filling out applications in the office.
