Shining Bright: Billi Young, I AM Roots Community Manager Award Winner 2024

At Roots Management Group, we are proud when we see our Community Managers going above and beyond for the community and the residents. Each year, we celebrate the incredible work of our Community Managers with the prestigious I AM Roots Community Manager Awards. This award is given to managers who demonstrate outstanding performance, including leading teams, surpassing key metrics, and finding solutions to complex challenges.  

This year, 8 Community Managers were honored with this award. It’s a coveted feat that requires determination and dedication.  

This week, we are thrilled to spotlight Billi Young, one of our 2024 recipients, the outstanding Community Manager at Wekiva Falls. 

Billi has been part of the Wekiva Falls family since 2004. When Roots Management Group took over the resort, Billi continued to shine as an exemplary leader, earning her place as a 2024 I AM Roots Award winner. One of the key qualities that led to her award was her positive energy—a critical asset for successfully managing the resort’s two bustling RV seasons. Her courage, strength, and determination are evident in how she leads her team and community. 

Billi’s unwavering dedication to her staff and residents has significantly impacted Wekiva Falls. She credits her success to teamwork: "I have a natural ability to oversee multiple tasks and handle situations. Wekiva Falls has many events, and together with my staff, we lead with great expectations.” 

Billi’s commitment goes beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. Wekiva Falls hosts various community events throughout the year, from charitable initiatives from food bank collections, toy drives to help Toys for Tots, and numerous celebrations that unite the community. Some of the most cherished traditions include Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks event, and holiday dances for Memorial and Labor Day. Not to mention, Billi and her team are known for throwing an unforgettable Halloween celebration! 

Under Billi’s leadership, Wekiva Falls has become a place where community members feel welcome and are given opportunities to give back. The resort’s initiatives, like the Angel Tree program for children at Christmas and fundraisers to support guests in need, exemplify the caring spirit she fosters. 

When asked what advice she would give new Community Managers joining Roots, Billi said, “Remain patient, listen, and strive to do your best each day. And when in need, reach out to your upper support teams—they are here to help.” 

Her wisdom and tireless dedication make her a well-deserving recipient of the I AM Roots Community Manager Award. Congratulations, Billi. We are so proud to have you on the team and can’t wait to see what more you accomplish in the future.
