Rooted in Achievement! Socorro Ortiz Honored with I AM Roots Award

At Roots Management Group, excellence and dedication do not go unnoticed. Socorro Ortiz, the Community Manager at Springdale Estates, has been honored with the prestigious I AM Roots Award for the West region. Known for her exceptional leadership, mentoring abilities, and multi-faceted expertise, Socorro has made an indelible mark within the Roots community. 

Since joining Roots Management Group on October 12, 2021, Socorro has exemplified a commitment to excellence. Reflecting on her time with the company, she says, “I don’t have just one favorite thing about working for Roots—there are so many. For example, I love the fact that they appreciate me as a person. They value and compensate for hard work and dedication. I feel the whole system is well-structured, and every single person I have dealt with has been wonderful. The support is incredible.” 

Socorro’s passion for her role is evident. Over the past three years, she has embraced the challenges of managing three different communities under four different Regional Managers. Her ability to remain flexible, take on various responsibilities, and lend a hand wherever needed has been instrumental in her success. 

Leading with Passion and Positivity 

“I am honored and flattered to have received such an award,” Socorro shares. “I genuinely just go to work every day and do my best. I try to stay flexible and keep my passion for helping my community in any way I can.” Her humility and dedication shine through as she reflects on her contributions, which have positively impacted both her colleagues and residents. 

Socorro’s approach to community management is rooted in kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to uplift others. Her advice to new Community Managers is both inspiring and insightful: “If you wake up one day with no desire to get out of bed, but then you think about your work, your community, and your residents, and this thought fills your body with energy and urgency to get up and get to work, then you are on the right path. Be genuine, kind, compassionate, and positive.”
