The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving. This year, the Roots Management Group team followed the real heart of what it means to show up for one another.

Across our communities, Roots employees stepped up with open hearts to support residents facing unexpected hardships through our annual holiday giving efforts.

Participation is always completely optional, yet year after year; our team rallies together, proving that even the smallest gestures can make a meaningful difference.

“This is who we are at Roots,” said Sarah Taylor, Chief Financial Officer at Roots Management Group. “We don’t just manage communities; we care deeply about the people who live in them. Seeing our team come together to support families during the holidays is a powerful reminder that compassion and leadership go hand in hand.”

This season, our Giving Tree initiative supported families from three Roots communities, each navigating unique challenges. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, these families were reminded that they are not alone.

Another community supported a longtime resident family that has endured an incredibly difficult year following a sudden medical emergency that changed their lives overnight. While balancing work, caregiving, and the needs of a child with special needs, the strength and resilience this family has shown has been incredible.

“Our team really connected with this family’s story,” shared Hannah Brinton, Executive Assistant at Roots Management Group. Hannah helped orchestrate the companywide effort and shares that everyone went above and beyond to help the residents in need. “It wasn’t about the gifts; it was about showing them that we care and how they are supported by a larger community that wants to lift them up."

Employees helped a hardworking single mother of three who continues to push forward despite losing reliable transportation, which impacted her ability to work. Known for her kindness and positive spirit, she remains a trusted and welcoming presence in the community.

Another focus for employees was to help a single mom who is not only raising her daughter but also her two nieces. She has been working multiple jobs to support her household, and her community manager says she is always proud of how well she keeps up her home while being committed to her family even in the face of financial challenges.

“Seeing how many employees wanted to help was incredibly moving,” Brinton said. “Everyone gave what they could, time, gifts, encouragement. Together, it made a real impact for these families during the holidays.”

What makes Roots Management Group special isn’t just the communities we manage; it’s the people behind them. The generosity shown by our employees reflects the values that define Roots: compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to those we serve.

To every Roots team member who donated, shared, or supported these efforts in any way, thank you. Your kindness helped brighten the holidays for families in need and reminded us all what this season is truly about.

Together, we didn’t just give gifts; we gave hope.
