For Eddie Woods II, helping someone find the right home isn’t just part of the job, it’s the part he loves most.
As a Community Manager at Roots Management Group, Eddie has been making a strong impact over the past two years, consistently helping buyers move into homes in the communities he serves. Month after month, he’s closing sales and guiding new homeowners through the process, often averaging one or two home sales at a time.
But ask Eddie the secret behind that success, and his answer is surprisingly simple.
He listens.
Eddie’s background didn’t begin in manufactured housing. His career started in collections, eventually moving into property management for both residential and commercial housing. That experience helped him develop a strong understanding of housing markets and customer service before he entered the manufactured housing industry.
When he discovered the potential within manufactured housing communities, he saw something bigger: an opportunity for growth, both professionally and for the families he would help.
Today, Eddie focuses on building real relationships with buyers.
“Having honest conversations with buyers allows them to see the great advantages of purchasing a home,” he explains. “My key secret is listening to the buyer. A lot of times you will get all the answers you need by simply listening.”
That approach helps him understand what people truly need, whether it’s affordability, a fresh start, or the pride that comes with homeownership.
Like any successful salesperson, Eddie believes preparation is key.
Each morning starts with a routine that keeps him focused and organized. He reviews a sales board he created along with the company’s EYR list, helping him prioritize the buyers he should follow up with that day.
The system allows him to stay strategic about where to focus his time and energy to move deals forward.
But while systems help keep things organized, Eddie says the real connection happens face to face.
For Eddie, connecting with buyers and residents is about making sure everyone feels comfortable and informed.
He focuses on providing detailed information in a professional and respectful way, making himself approachable to anyone considering a home purchase in the community.
“Making myself relevant to all buyers helps them feel comfortable,” he says.
That comfort often turns into confidence, confidence that they’re making the right decision about their future home.
Eddie says the support and learning opportunities within Roots Management Group have played a role in his continued growth.
He particularly appreciated the Sales Mastery classes led by Dan Roacho, SVP of Sales, Inventory and Procurement at Roots Management Group, which highlighted the many opportunities within the manufactured housing market.
“One thing I learned from the weekly courses was the variety of opportunities there are in the manufactured housing market,” he says.
And while Eddie brings plenty of natural talent to the role, he’s quick to recognize the team around him.
He credits Region 35, along with others at Roots Management Group including, Christine Ticconi, Virginia Campbell, and Rose Graham, for their guidance and support when needed.
“It’s great to know help is there immediately when you need it,” he says.
At the end of the day, Eddie says the most rewarding part of his work isn’t the sales numbers, it’s the impact those sales have on people’s lives.
Programs like Establish Your Roots (EYR) make homeownership possible for many buyers who might not have thought it was within reach.
Helping someone cross that threshold into homeownership is something Eddie doesn’t take lightly.
“What I love most about what I do is helping people,” he says. “This EYR program makes it possible for a lot of people to become homeowners, which changes people’s lives.”
If someone asked Eddie about his job at a party, he’d keep it simple.
“You must be organized and have great customer service,” he says.
But behind that modest description is something bigger, a career built on trust, listening, and helping people achieve something meaningful.
And judging by the steady stream of new homeowners he’s helping along the way, Eddie Woods II is doing exactly that one home, and one happy resident, at a time.
