Celebrating National Dog Day: Our Love for Pets

At Roots Management Group, our communities are complete by the love and companionship our residents share with their pets. As we celebrate National Dog Day on August 26th, we want to take a moment to recognize the four-legged friends who bring so much joy to our lives. To mark this special day, we're spotlighting our pet-friendly policies and sharing adorable photos of our residents and staff's furry companions.

Understanding the Roots Pet Policy

We have a well-thought-out pet policy to ensure our communities remain a happy and safe environment for everyone. Amanda Wedding, our Director of Lease Administration, shared some insights into how we manage pets in our communities.

What should residents know about bringing pets into our communities?

Amanda: "We do welcome pets, but there are some restrictions. We can discuss specific pet questions with residents or provide a copy of the pet policy for them to review. Understanding our guidelines is important to make the process as smooth as possible."

How does the pet screening process work?

Amanda: "Pet screening is an easy online process that allows us to help manage pets in our communities. You create a profile for your pet, including vaccination details, ownership information, and whether the animal is an ESA or Assistance Animal. It only takes a few minutes, and once completed, the community manager can view the profile."

Do you need to meet the pets before approval?

Amanda: "No, we don’t need to meet the pets first, though some of us are big animal lovers and would enjoy it!"

What are the restrictions residents should be aware of?

Amanda: "We allow dogs and cats under certain conditions. For dogs, there are breed restrictions, and they must weigh under 40 pounds. Breeds considered vicious or aggressive, like pit bulls and Rottweilers, are prohibited. Cats are allowed only in resident-owned homes. All pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and residents are liable for any damage caused by their pets. Animals must be on a handheld leash when outside, and you can have a maximum of two pets per household."

Tips for residents moving in with pets?

Amanda: "Overall, applying and relocating with your pet can be pretty seamless as long as you have all their documentation ready and know our restrictions before applying."

A Community that Cares

At Roots Management Group, we take pride in fostering a pet-friendly environment where residents and their pets can thrive. Whether it's a playful pup running around or a cuddly cat lounging indoors, pets are integral to our communities.

We invite all our residents to share photos of their beloved pets in the comments or tag us on social media. Let’s celebrate the love and joy these furry friends bring into our lives every day!
