What is the Roots Mission?

The Roots mission is one that I believe in, where I feel we have the privilege to serve and honor.

To me, the Roots mission means being able to serve our residents and helping solve one of the biggest, most prominent crisis that we have in the country right now, which is affordable housing. And so we get the privilege of serving our residents, our future residents, and helping them better their lives, helping them find homes that are affordable, and to live in communities that are safe.

I know that the amazing product we have for the people that live in our homes, that live in the homes and in the communities that we serve, and just as important, is that I get to serve the community managers, the sales consultants, the maintenance staff, and all the other folks that live and work with them every day to make sure those communities are safe and affordable, and that we get to serve the families that belong to these folks as well, to all both residents and my colleagues, my teammates.

The Roots mission is focused on the individual. It's about empowering the individual, whether that be me as an employee, whether it be our community managers, whether that be our investors, whether that be our residents. It's about allowing all of us to be the best people that we can be, to experience the most growth that we can be. It's really focused on individual development, individual success, individual growth.

Being a part of a company that truly is seeking to make change for good is, it's inspiring. To me, and I think to everyone here, and so in that aspect, I mean, I love that piece of the mission. Then where we focus specifically on improving the quality of life for employees, community managers, and residents, I've watched that take place. I watched this change happen as we started realizing our community managers are the heart of Roots. They are the front lines. They're the deliverer.

Watching them light up as they feel a company invest in them, specifically a demographic that isn't known to be invested in. That's invaluable to be a part of a mission that does that.
