Part 2: Celebrating Maintenance Technician Appreciation Month at Roots

At Roots Management Group, we recognize that our maintenance technicians are the backbone of our communities. Their hard work, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond ensure that our residents enjoy safe, comfortable, and well-maintained homes.

We recently wrapped up Maintenance Technician Appreciation Month, during which our community and office managers went all out to show their gratitude to these incredible professionals! The response has been overwhelming, and we want to ensure we highlight as many celebrations and dedications as possible—so we hope you enjoy Part Two.

Honoring the Best of the Best 

Riverview Estates 

Community Manager Susan Van Sumeren expressed her deep appreciation for maintenance technicians Matt and Dave, saying, "They are the best you could ask for! Not only do they always go above and beyond, but they never complain and take care of daily duties while also assisting residents with their needs. A special thank you to Matt and Dave!" 

Stockbridge Estates 

Tricia Rios and her team celebrated their hardworking technician, Cortes. She shared, "Not only is he committed, but he pays attention to details and has made a lasting impact—not just on the community but with the residents." 

Lakeside Village 

Nancy Von Dyck highlighted the dedication of Craig Campbell, stating, "Craig is always on top of everything in our community, ensuring maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently. His reliability, positive attitude, and commitment to keeping our property running smoothly do not go unnoticed. We are lucky to have him!" She also expressed gratitude for his exceptional work in preparing the pool for the community. 

Marion Mobile Village 

Tricia Shannon praised David Goodman, who goes the extra mile by checking the community late at night—even when he's off the clock. "David's dedication exemplifies what Roots stands for. His commitment and sense of ownership cannot be taught. He has also taken the time to introduce himself to tenants, fostering a strong sense of community." 

The Orchards/Paradise

Mark Muir has shown exceptional commitment, stepping up beyond maintenance tasks to assist with community operations. Tricia Shannon shared, "Mark ensures there is always a friendly face at the office to help residents, whether it's showing homes or receiving rent payments. I am truly blessed to have him on my team!" 

Traveling Maintenance Team 

Jason Morris and his team of traveling maintenance technicians were also celebrated for their unwavering dedication. "They go above and beyond at a moment’s notice. Their reliability and expertise keep our communities thriving!" 

Community-Wide Celebrations 

Countryside Estates 

Brooke McAlister organized a maintenance appreciation lunch in Hays, ensuring that their hardworking technicians felt valued. "We couldn’t do it without them—the residents in Hays are very blessed to have such an amazing team!" 

Topeka Communities 

Amanda Laughlin, a Regional Manager says she and her team made sure their maintenance technicians received lunch, drinks, and treats. She shared, "We appreciate everything our maintenance team has done, especially during the harsh winter weather with long hours and water line breaks. Their dedication is truly commendable!" 

Whistler Cove & Riverview Crossing 

Tina Bright praised Bobby, Drew, and Denver for their outstanding work, stating, "These gentlemen not only keep our communities running but also never turn down a request to assist sister communities. I couldn't ask for better maintenance professionals!" 

Leadership Recognition 

Senior Vice President Tishanna Newman extended her gratitude to all maintenance technicians at Roots, saying, "We couldn’t do what we do without the incredible maintenance teams working tirelessly every day. Please know how important you are to us—we appreciate all that you do for your communities and managers. YOU ARE ROCK STARS!" 

Kelly McPartlan from Kankakee Estates also spotlighted her regional maintenance crew for stepping up when a contractor failed to meet a deadline. "We pulled maintenance staff from multiple properties and rallied together to complete a home for a resident on time. Their teamwork and dedication were truly remarkable!" 

Fairlane Estates & Hideaway Hills 

Community Manager Jeff Slattery commended William (Joe) Davis and Steven Warner for their dedication. "They are team players who give 100% effort every day, stay on schedule with turns and work orders, and always step up to challenges with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude!" 

Shady Acres Manufactured Housing & RV Resort 

Paola Bazaldua shared appreciation for Alex Garcia, saying, "Alex’s hard work, dedication, and attention to detail ensure that everything runs smoothly. His professionalism and commitment do not go unnoticed—we are so grateful for all that he does!" 

We were thrilled to celebrate the incredible efforts of our maintenance technicians across all Roots Management Group properties. From special lunches and appreciation events to heartfelt messages of gratitude, our teams made sure their dedication did not go unnoticed.
