How Roots Management Group Supports Students and Families Prepare for a New School Year!

For many families, the start of a new school year means fresh backpacks, sharpened pencils, and the excitement of new beginnings. At Roots Management Group, we believe it’s also a time to come together as a community, to celebrate, support, and make sure every student feels prepared and confident walking into the classroom. 

This year, we focus on what one Community Manager Audrey Ellis organized to help make that vision a reality by hosting a Back-to-School Celebration for residents. 

"It is always so nice to see the kids and parents get organized and ready for a new school year," says Audrey who organized this community event. "We had enough backpacks for 65 children and we have a few left over because while not everyone needed a backpack, everyone took supplies!"

The event was filled with smiles, laughter, and the scent of grilled hot dogs. Children and parents enjoyed:  

• Free backpacks in a variety of styles and sizes for preschool through high school students 

• Essential school supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, loose-leaf paper, and erasers 

• A community cookout with hot dogs, chips, and lemonade 

Families appreciated being able to choose the supplies they needed most, ensuring that every child—whether starting preschool or entering their final year of high school—was equipped for success. “This is such a great event, we look forward to it each year” said a resident who has three children all excited to start the new school year with new supplies.  

Community Safety as a Priority 

Back-to-school season is also a reminder for all of us to stay safe. Whether that’s walking to the bus stop, riding bikes, or being aware in busy parking areas. "We encourage everyone to be aware and allow extra time to get to the bus stop or to school since the traffic can be heavier at the start of the school year" adds Audrey.
