To accomplish this, Roots is rolling out an innovative Community Manager Certification Program—This virtual and interactive training initiative with the knowledge, procedures, and processes necessary to excel in their roles while adhering to the esteemed "Roots Way.” Way.

Enhancing Community Manager Expertise: Led by Annie Robertson, the Director of Learning and Development, and her team, the Community Manager Certification Program offers a centralized resource where managers can access valuable information and clarify various responsibilities. Robertson shares, "This program serves as a one-stop shop for our Community Managers, providing them with answers and fostering clarity. We have strived to make the content engaging and enjoyable, but I am most proud of our team's ability to bring clarity to an ambiguous process. Community Managers have expressed immense gratitude for having a reliable resource to turn to." The certification process typically takes about 30 hours to complete.

Empowering Knowledge and Growth: The certification program encompasses courses covering finance, community care, and people management—fundamental areas that enable Community Managers to confidently carry out their duties. While the program does not offer solutions for every scenario, it provides a framework for managers to find answers and approach situations using their critical thinking skills. Robertson emphasizes, "These courses provide Community Managers with a solid foundation to navigate their roles effectively. The certification program, scheduled to launch in early July 2023, will provide a comprehensive reference for all Roots Community Managers and Regional Managers. Robertson states, "As we unveil this program, we invite Regional Managers to engage in weekly follow-up discussions on the content, utilizing the support resources we are developing. Additionally, subject matter experts will review the courses every six months to ensure accuracy. Follow-up and advanced courses are part of our roadmap for 2024."
