Written by Christine Bachman | Nov 1, 2024 7:28:40 PM

Roots Management Group is thrilled to shine the spotlight on Rudy Mariscal, Community Manager at Grand Missouri, who was one of eight award winners for the: I AM Roots Award. This is a great honor for our community managers. Rudy exemplifies the dedication, team spirit, and commitment to community that the I AM Roots Award celebrates. With nearly four years at Roots, Rudy has become an invaluable part of our team, making a difference in his community every day.

Rudy's leadership, community spirit, and dedication to the residents of Grand Missouri are just a few of the reasons he was chosen for the I AM Roots Award. Reflecting on this honor, Rudy shares, "I honestly wasn’t expecting to win again, especially since I won last year. With so much talent among Roots’ community managers, it was a pleasant surprise! I love what I do and believe wholeheartedly in the product Roots offers. It's pure joy to walk a new homeowner to their door and say, 'Welcome home.'"

Rudy’s Journey:

Since joining Roots in 2021, Rudy has embraced various roles and communities. Starting at Bright Haven in Mesa, AZ, for a couple of months, he soon transitioned to El San Juan in Peoria, AZ. After the sale of that community, Rudy moved to Grand Missouri, where he has spent the last two years, guiding new and existing residents through home sales and community-building activities.

Favorite Part About Working for Roots

When asked about his favorite part of working with Roots, Rudy highlights the company's values and mission. "I love offering affordable housing to new buyers and empowering our teams to be the best we can. But the best part is definitely the residents. Their smiles and waves as I drive through the community bring me joy every day.”

Community Impact in the Last Year

This past year, Rudy has led multiple community initiatives, hosting back-to-school donation drives and, currently, a clothing drive for St. Vincent De Paul Homeless Shelter, which just wrapped up. Rudy's heart for helping the homeless community has not only inspired his residents but also his fellow Community Managers. "I’m so proud to see others joining in the cause,” Rudy says, “James at Paradise Valley Ranch, Maria at Paradise Valley, Bailey at Estrella Estates, Lori at Spring Haven, and Susie at Rose Haven have all set up donation bins at their offices. Together, we’re making a real impact.”

Advice for New Community Managers

To new community managers just starting at Roots, Rudy offers this advice: "You’re part of an amazing company and the best team ever. Embrace it, have fun, and live the values Roots stands for. Together, we’re building a strong foundation for our residents. We are Rooted."

Congratulations, Rudy, and thank you for your passion, leadership, and dedication to the Grand Missouri community and beyond. Keep up the great work!
