Inside Roots Management Group’s First Full-Company Summit

At Roots Management Group, we are passionate about transforming the manufactured housing industry and delivering an exceptional experience for the residents who call our community's home. This August, we reached an exciting milestone: hosting our first-ever company-wide Roots Summit, where employees from across the country and around the world came together under the theme “Rooted in Success: Breakthrough Performance.” 

The event wasn’t just a meeting—it was a celebration of our people, our progress, and our vision for the future. With over 150 employees in attendance, it was also our largest gathering to date. 

What made this Summit especially meaningful was that, for the first time, every employee was included. 

  • In-person attendees included Community Managers, Corporate Employees, and Divisional Maintenance Managers. 
  • Virtual attendees joined from across the globe, representing International Employees, Maintenance Teams, Park Patrol, Make Ready Technicians, Part-Time Employees, and Office Assistants. 

By bringing together voices from every level of the company, we created opportunities to strengthen relationships, share new ideas, and ensure that the strategies shaping our future are informed by the people who live out our mission every day. 

 

The Summit was also an opportunity to celebrate the incredible strides Roots has made as a company: 

  • More families finding homes: Our vacant inventory dropped from 3,700 in 2024 to 2,683 in 2025, a clear sign that more residents are achieving stable housing in our communities. 
  • Homeownership on the rise: Our Establish Your Roots program saw remarkable growth, empowering more people to transition from renting to owning their own manufactured home. 
  • Operational strength: Net occupancy has climbed, and total sales have increased year-over-year, showing that our communities are thriving and attracting new residents. 

These aren’t just numbers—they represent families finding security, pride, and opportunity in Roots communities nationwide. 

 

Beyond celebrating wins, the Summit gave our teams valuable time to learn, connect, and collaborate: 

  • Table discussions paired Community Managers, Regional Managers, and corporate employees, encouraging honest conversations about challenges, roadblocks, and best practices. 
  • Breakout sessions provided targeted learning on building stronger relationships, financial management at the property level, and safety updates that protect residents and employees alike. 
  • Corporate and partner booths lined the halls with interactive displays, giveaways, and face-to-face conversations—showcasing the creativity and support systems that drive Roots’ success. 

The spirit of collaboration reminded us that when our teams share knowledge, our residents reap the benefits. 

One of the most exciting elements of the Summit was the opportunity for employees to hear directly from one of our investors for the very first time. Mike Maires of URS shared insights into who they are, their values, and why they believe in Roots’ vision. This was a powerful moment of transparency, giving our employees a deeper understanding of the partnership fueling our growth. 

Another highlight came from our partner, Clayton Homes, who brought a brand-new manufactured home to the venue. Employees were able to tour the home, guided by our sales team, who explained the features and selling points they emphasize when introducing homes to new buyers. For our teams, this was hands-on training. For our residents, it means a more confident and informed experience when choosing their home. 

 

At Roots, our people are the driving force behind everything we do. The Summit gave us the opportunity to recognize excellence across the company—not just at the community level, but also at the corporate level. For the first time, we introduced corporate awards, where employees were nominated by their peers to exemplify our core values. 

Celebrating our employees’ dedication reinforces our belief that when people feel valued, they do their best work—and our residents feel the results. 

The 2025 Roots Summit was more than a gathering. It was a turning point—a reminder of how far we’ve come and where we’re headed. With over 150 employees participating, the event showcased the strength of our people, the success of our strategy, and the momentum fueling our future. 

With stronger connections, new tools, and a shared sense of purpose, our teams left energized to continue transforming the manufactured housing industry. 

For our residents, this means more innovation, stronger communities, and an unwavering commitment to making every Roots property a place people are proud to call home.
