On January 15, 2025, the Cross Creek RV Resort community came together to celebrate the life of Lena "Pat" Wagner, a beloved longtime resident who passed away just shy of her 100th birthday. Pat was much more than just a resident; she was a pillar of the community, leaving an enduring legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication.

Pat's journey at Cross Creek began in 1997, when she chose a spot in what was then an open field. Over the years, she played an instrumental role in shaping the community, selling over 100 park model homes and helping create the vibrant, welcoming neighborhood that exists today. She was deeply committed to Cross Creek, from starting Sunday church services in the clubhouse to maintain meaningful relationships with both residents and staff.

Her daughter-in-law, Marcia Foglia, who serves as the community manager at Cross Creek RV Resort, shared how much Pat loved the community she helped build: "She absolutely loved this place. It was her home, her safe haven, and she took pride in seeing it flourish."

Pat was a woman full of life and energy. She worked in real estate within the community until the age of 87, always eager to help others find their perfect home. Even in her later years, she remained active, cherishing time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter Riley, 9, and great-granddaughter Audrina, 16, shared special traditions with Pat, including doing each other's nails and playing house with her late husband, George. These small moments reflected the love Pat shared with her family.

A talented cook, Pat often brought people together over her famous fried chicken—a dish no one could quite replicate. Despite her age, she remained sharp and healthy, crediting her longevity to a daily glass of orange juice and a life filled with love, companionship, and purpose.

The memorial service was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact Pat had on everyone who knew her. Elayne, her daughter, led the service with heartfelt words, and the second owner of Cross Creek RV Resort offered a prayer before lunch. Residents, staff, and family members shared memories filled with laughter and emotion, honoring the incredible woman who had touched so many lives.

Dalton Lee, Regional Manager for Roots Management Group, attended the service and shared a moving reflection: “Pat’s passing was a reminder of just how deeply our communities are intertwined with the lives of the people who call them home. As someone who works in the business side of things, it's easy to view these communities as assets or budgets, but attending Pat’s service made me realize that they are much more. They are homes where memories are made, where friendships are formed, and where lives are enriched. I have a deep responsibility to contribute positively to these communities, to be part of the positive memories that people create here. For Pat, Cross Creek was not just a place to live—it was her home, her family, and her life. That’s something I’ll always carry with me.”

Meghan Nowotny, Regional Manager for Roots Management Group, also reflected on the influence of Pat's family: “Marcia and her family have been instrumental in the success of Cross Creek. Marcia’s dedication and passion for this community are evident in the thriving environment she and her family have created over the past 20 years.”

Today, Cross Creek RV Resort is a thriving, full-occupancy community with 623 lots, offering a calendar full of activities like toga parties, movie nights, and poolside gatherings. The lively, close-knit atmosphere Pat helped foster continues to thrive, making Cross Creek not just a place to live, but a place to belong.

Pat Wagner’s legacy will forever be woven into the fabric of Cross Creek RV Resort. The memories she helped create and the kindness she shared will continue to resonate through the community. Her family, friends, and the many lives she touched will honor her memory by cherishing the place she loved and the warmth she brought to everyone she encountered.

Rest in peace, Pat. Your love and light will never be forgotten.
