At Roots Management Group, the holidays are about more than decorations and events; they’re about people. This Christmas season, six Roots community stories reminded us of what makes our neighborhoods special. Neighbors showing up for one another, partners stepping in when help is needed most, and community teams working behind the scenes to make sure families feel supported and seen.
Across multiple states and communities, small acts of kindness turned into meaningful Christmas miracles.
Riverview Estates: Wrapped with Love and Ready for Christmas
At Riverview Estates, the spirit of giving came to life with the help of our friends at Mersen USA. Thanks to their generosity, two community families were able to experience a brighter Christmas this year.
Community Manager Beth and Office Assistant Susan fully embraced their roles as Santa’s elves! They wrapped up the gifts that Mersen USA purchased, and made sure the families were able to pick up the gifts and enjoy the holiday magic without added stress. It was a simple gesture that carried a big message: you’re not alone, and your community cares.
Madison Manufactured Housing Community: A Home for the Holidays
At Madison Manufactured Housing Community, Community Manager Brandi Dwenger helped make something even more meaningful happen at home.
Just days before Christmas, Brandi was able to help two separate families move into vacant homes that were ready and waiting. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, giving both families the opportunity to celebrate the holidays together in a place they could truly call their own.
“Now they can spend the holidays together making memories,” Brandi shared.
Beyond a roof over their heads, these families also gained something just as important, the chance to connect with neighbors and become part of the community spirit that makes Madison MHC feel like home.
Selina, Kansas: Three Communities, One Big Heart
In Selina, Kansas, the power of partnership was on full display across three Roots communities. A local church opened its doors and hearts by hosting a toy drive that went above and beyond expectations.
This is the 8th year that Roots communities have participated, and this year, more than 240 children were registered to receive gifts, exceeding the usual cap of 170. Seeing how great the need was, the church made the decision to include every child.
Roots Management Group contributed wrapping paper and supplies so the focus could stay where it belonged: on the kids and their Christmas joy.
The result? Smiles, excitement, and a room filled with holiday magic.
Community Manager Audrey Ellis shared that it’s been a tough year for many families. “The joy on the children’s faces said everything that needed to be said,” said Ellis.
These moments are what the holidays and community living are truly all about.
